But it has to be remembered that after vacuuming the home, you should not leave the vacuum bag inside your house, otherwise it can lead to fleas attack again. You can also use insecticides or infra red treatment of the house carried out with caution.

There is a wide range of shampoos, sprays, solutions, pills, chemicals, oils and collars available in the market that you can use to get rid of fleas. Products like Advantage flea control, Frontline flea control and Proban pills are very effective in killing fleas but of course, surplus of anything is bad. An excessive use of these agents used to kill fleas can also prove hazardous for the pets and for us also. Over use of flea repellents can also cause vomiting and neurological problems in your pets.

Flea collars are also available that emit vapours that are highly poisonous for fleas but you must check the pet’s skin from time to time beneath the collar to make sure that the collar is not causing any type of irritation or infection on the pet’s neck. Citrus peel extracts, rubbing alcohol on the pet’s skin and sorptive dusts are very effective method of killing fleas too.
