keep clean the area that has been affected
and to wash it with antiseptic soap or lotion.
Do not use warm water on the affected are
as this may increase the itching all the more.
Applying any cold pack on the bite can be
of great help to decrease swelling. Scratching
the infected area may stimulate all the more
and take more time to cure, so it is better
to avoid scratching.
However, if it doesn’t seem to get better
and the affected area is still swollen and
red, you can apply any mild steroid cream
such as 1% hydrocortisone cream. These are
usually easily available from any pharmacist
shop without any prescription. Hydrocortisone
is another that is very useful to reduce inflammation.
Calamine lotion is another alternative that
can be a solution to your problem.
Some of the flea bites may be quite intense.
In such cases, one oral dose of any anti-histamine
such as Chlortrimeton or Dimetapp can prove
to be very helpful to get rid of itching.
Once scratching and itching stops, the process
of healing would also get faster.
Nevertheless, these things are sufficient
to treat flea bites, but at times it may not
be fine even after this. For such cases, it
is always better to consult a physician and
take a course of some steroids or antibiotics
